my friend Michelle and i went to Joshua Tree this past weekend to shoot wildflowers, of which there were few. but we made the best of it and found Plenty to keep our trigger fingers busy. the "cholla garden" was one of the most beautiful places i've seen in the desert with a huge valley of cacti and the little baby ones were rolling along like mini tumbleweeds.
(not pictured is one of these cute but painful baby-cacti-balls attaching itself to Michelle's pant leg and puncturing then bruising her shin. guess we should have adhered to the warning signs and safety fences... meh)
Beautiful, Casey! The day was perfect, from the weather, to the conversations, the dinner, and even "the poison." I'm so glad we went, and I'm looking forward to more of these trips in the future.
